Heavenly Fowl Apothecary
Level 3
A drug store focusing mostly on potions and herbal remedies prepared by Naofumi. Most offerings are labeled with jargon words like 'organic' or 'traditional' remedies, but they're pretty much all just concoctions he's made using his shield's medicine-compounding skill abilities. Everything is 100% safe and effective though, and perfect for anyone who wants to try a more 'alternative' medicine or who anyone who has more trust in the Moonblessed than Lunatia's native medical industry

NAME: Naofumi Iwatani
CANON: The Rise of Sheild Hero
CANON POINT: End of TV Series
AGE: 20
BACKGROUND: https://shield-hero.fandom.com/wiki/Naofumi_Iwatani
PERSONALITY: Before becoming the sheild hero, Naofumi was by his own admission a completely normal, run of the mill college student with mildly nerdy interests. Kind, easy going, earnest and more than a little bit naive could all be used to describe him. That was before being brought to a strange world, given the least prestigious of holy weapons and told bluntly he was expected to protect a world that brought him against his will. Shortly thereaver, a series of false acusations effectively destroy both his reputation and his faith in humanity in general. Now forced to scrape by for scraps but still expected to defend a world that now hates him, he becomes withdrawn, cynical, sardonic, and extraordinarily bitter. He's also not above being petty, throwing away his last silvers out of spite at Motoyasu and Myne's feet before he walks away from the castle for good.
Now he's a man who doesn't trust easily- the sort who automatically assumes everyone around him has an ulterior motive, and cannot be relied on to not stab him in the back. This means he's self reliant wherever possible, though as a realist he's aware he cannot survive entirely on his own, relying only on those people who've earned his trust absolutely. He's not above buying loyalty- in one of the series most controversial plot points, he's even willing to outright buy a demi-human servant. Tthough he never treats her as such (or mistreats her in any way), it should be noted that he's willing to overlook the obvious moral dilemma this implies.
As a result of having to live a life on the margins, he also becomes extremely materialistic- apart from strengthening himself to fight the monsterous battles nessesary for 'saving the world', his main concern becomes money, at least on the surface. He doesn't lie, or steal, but he does conduct business ruthlessly and is not above threatening other shopkeeps to ensure a fair market price, even to the extent of using monsters to outright bully them into compliance.
While he is fairly quick on the uptake, rapidly understanding the 'rules' (read- game mechanics) of his newly adopted world, he's actually pretty bad at reading people. He's completely fooled by the two faced and manipulative myne, and conversely his inability to trust means it takes him far too long to accept those who honestly would be on his side. He's also so convinced that nobody would beleive anything he says that he refuses to communicate at all much of the time, even when plainly saying what he thinks would be of obvious benefit to him. It also takes him a long time to notice or appreciate Raphtalia's obvious development, treating her as a child despite her obvious physical and mental maturity.
In combat, he's a pragmatist. Knowing he can't really attack, he's willing to use any and all tools at his disposal, even if this involves such 'cheating' measures as using captured monsters in a duel. Because he's forced to constantly use out of the box techniques, he actually comes to master them, eventually ironically becoming the most formidable of the heroes.
These less than stellar traits would mark him for a fine anti-hero, but behind his mask of resentment he's actually extremeily kind underneath it all. He treats Rapthtelia as a daughter and partner, despite having litterally bought her.Aside from being materialistic, he's oddly paternal, taking to Filo like a father would and, when Raphtalia was a child, buying her kids' meals and toys. In his later job as a traveling apothecary and salesman, he just as often secretly enhances his medications to treat serious illnesses without mentioning it or raising his prices accordingly, and though he doesn't conduct charity per-se he's frequently allowed customers to pay in kind, or defer payment. Ironically, he gains a glowing reputation as something of a mircale worker based on his actions, as long as his customers remain unaware that they're actually dealing with the dreaded and hated shield hero.
Perhaps one of his more important traits is his latent rage-. while he pretends people's attitudes towards him don't bother him, the truth is he's so preocupied with his unfair treatment that it becomes almost all consuming. Eventually it even effects his shield abilities, corrupting his abilities (though unlocking the overpowered cursed series in the process). Must of the series deals with him overcoming this rage, and though he comes a long way by the serie's end, he's still got a long way to go. All told, he's a complicated character- not quite a hero, but definitely not the villian so much of his world thinks he is.
POWERS/ABILITIES: Naofumi is the Shield Hero, and all of his abilities stem from his sheild, which is a legendary magical weapon. It gives him the ability to see and intereact with the world in MMO terms- inventory items, exp, etc, as well as granting him defensive and supporting magics, dulling his ability to feel pain, preventing him from intoxication, and other similar constitution buffs, at the expense of having almost no offensive abilities It also grants him the ability to use a variety sheild abilities, unlocked by absorbing defeated enemies.
Examples include projecting magical sheilds, creating a defensive shell around himself, and other similarly themed abilities, a full list of which can be found in the above link.
He also has access to the curse-sheild series of abilities, which dramatically increase his abilities, give him access to curse fire, and several overpowered attack abilities, which I'm completely okay with having nerfed or locked in-game.
In addition to the above abilities he's also gifted in producing potions and accessories with the help of his shield's passive abilities.
INVENTORY:
His Sheild, a handful of health potions, and the clothes on his back are the only posessions he'll be bringing
